The American pecking order is on the line at the US Open. Ben Shelton is within 95 points of Taylor Fritz in the live Race to Turin and has risen to a career-high No. 5 in the live rankings. With Fritz’s 1,200 US Open runner-up points set to fall, Shelton can pass him by reaching the last 16 and going one round further. Frances Tiafoe advanced but is fighting to stay in the Top 20.
