National Zoning Atlas turns America’s zoning maze into clear, clickable maps

Cornell University’s Legal Constructs Lab is building the National Zoning Atlas, a first-of-its-kind effort to translate local zoning codes into standard, searchable maps. Led by Professor Sara Bronin, the project brings together more than 50 institutions to compare rules across states and cities. The atlas aims to close information gaps, support policy reforms, and expand public participation in land-use decisions.
